Martin says

I am thrilled and proud to be the first Green elected to Calderdale Council. I’d like to thank people in Northowram and Shelf for voting for me and everyone at Calderdale Greens for all their support.

It was a nail biting morning. There was lots of support on doorsteps but it is hard to overturn a big majority so we knew it would be close, but not this close!

My priorities over the next four years will be protecting green spaces from new housing developments and making congested roads in the area safer.
