Katie Witham ~ Green Party Candidate for Warley Ward May 2024

Head and shoulders of Katie Witham
Katie Witham

I've loved living in Calderdale for 20 years, and am keen to offer my skills and experience to support my community. I work on disability and environmental issues, as well as peace, and social justice campaigns while living with a chronic illness. I'm involved with local singing, dancing, hiking and environmental groups.

As your green councillor I will:

  •     Speak up and campaign for an improvement in local services and amenities so they can be accessible to ALL residents,
  •     Fight to ensure that development in our area is appropriate and sustainable with a council commitment to renewable energy and green technologies.
  •     Promote and encourage communication,  kindness, and inclusion in our communities.
  •     Prioritise an efficient, affordable and accessible public transport system.
  •     Work hard to promote local initiatives to help combat climate change and flooding.
  •     Help to grow the local green economy through supporting local business and social enterprises.

In the current climate of austerity, apathy and despair the green party offer hope of a more positive caring future.
