Kate Sweeny ~ Green Party Candidate for Luddendenfoot May 2024

Kate SweenyKate Sweeny

I am an NHS Speech and Language Therapist with more than 30 years of experience of working in Hospitals and community clinics. When I’m not at work or Being Green I love to be at the Theatre, either in the audience or backstage. I grew up near York and have lived in Calderdale for over 20 years now; this gives me chances to indulge another of my favourite activities – long walks in the hills.

I feel that the Council badly needs some Green voices to provide a different view of local issues.

I was initially attracted to the Green Party by the strong combination of environmentalism and social justice. I have been a member for 18 years, and have been active for all that time. I stood as the General Election candidate for Calder Valley in 2010, and I found that a fascinating, stimulating experience.

If you would like to get in touch with me, or to support my campaign, you can reach me via the local party.
