Conservative Government proposals to reform planning will lead to a ‘construction free-for-all’ in our area.
Government proposals to block residents from objecting to planning proposals represent a big threat to the green spaces in our area, according to Martin Hey, Green Party candidate in Northowram and Shelf:
These proposals would create ‘growth areas’ — focussed on the North of England — which would then be at risk from uncontrolled building. This misguided attempt to ‘grow the economy’ will simply lead to a massive increase in urban sprawl and a lower quality of life for everyone.
