Phil Whitbread
We can all see that ‘the system’ is broken. The Green Party wants to try to bring in a fairer system — where we work in tandem with the planet to try to stop the headlong rush to humanity’s extinction.
As an ex-pupil at the old Copley school I can understand that residents living there now shouldn’t need to be constantly worried about being flooded by the River Calder. Also, up the hill, traffic on Huddersfield Road and Dryclough Lane is becoming heavier every year, with noxious fumes being belched out daily. Are there any measures that could be taken by the Council to help ease concerns regarding these problems?
A common phrase being used for the blanket failings of governments and councils is that we should ‘learn to live with it.’ Well, I don’t think we should have to.
I want our children and grandchildren to be able to live in a better, fairer and healthier green and pleasant land than I the one I was born into, and that’s why I’m standing for the Green Party in this election.
