Dave Wardell, Stansfield Ward, Todmorden Town Council

Dave Wardell

I work for the Yorkshire Building Society, which is a mutual (owned by its members) and not to be confused with the Yorkshire Bank, which is owned by the National Bank of Australia.

I've lived in Stanfield for about eight years and love the park and that it's used so well. I'd like to see the Bandstand fixed and in use again and more events in the park. Traffic on Burnley road travels too fast and along with the rest of Todmorden is a dangerous racetrack at night. Only physical chicanes will provide a solution.

I'd like to come up with radical and transformational proposals for the town, e.g. floating straw-build, self-build homes, that have ground-sourced heat-pumps. Also using Todmorden's abundance of water to provide green power for the town.
